David P. Miles is the president of The H & R Block Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2002, David was a member of
the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. He assisted donors in accomplishing their charitable goals by making sure they
received maximum financial benefit in charitable giving and aligned their values and the needs of the community. David also has
more than 8 years of experience implementing strategies and providing leadership to increase the commitment and participation of
alumni in financial support and volunteer involvement at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Missouri-Columbia
and Stephens College.
Back to top Carey Wilkerson Looney is the vice president and secretary of The H & R Block Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation in 1999, Carey was the deputy director of Genesis School. She assisted the operations director with the development of, implementation, and evaluation of academic and social programs for high risk-youth. In addition, Carey worked in partnership with the executive director to secure funds for the school through grant research, writing, and tracking; implementation of special events; and raising community awareness with regards to effective strategies for educating high-risk youth. Carey serves on the grants allocation committee for the Heart of America Community AIDS Partnership, the steering committee of Camps for Kids, and is a member of Partners in Quality.
Back to top Robert L. Bloch has been at the Foundation since 1989. As a Program Officer, Bob focuses both on Arts and Culture Grants and Investments. Prior to joining the Foundation, Bob spent time at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and the Nelson Atkins Museum. Bob has a long history of commitment to the Kansas City Area, which includes board service for the Kansas City Art Institute, Liberty Memorial, and the Kansas City Zoo.

As the Program Administrator, Hillary oversees the Matching Gifts, Cash for Champions, Community Service Awards, and Scholarship programs. Prior to joining the Foundation, Hillary worked at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation as a Senior Nonprofit Specialist overseeing DonorEdge®, as an intern at Francis Family Foundation, and at Americorps VISTA as GKC Public Achievement. Hillary received her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University in 2004.
Back to top Jack Nachman has been at the Foundation since 1991. As a Program Assistant, Jack is in charge of special projects for the Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Jack worked for H&R Block as an internal auditor and co-owned a small accounting and tax business. Jack's involvement in the community includes The New Reformed Temple, Family and Children Services, Genesis School, and Junior Achievement.
